Coleridge School selected for DfE’s Breakfast Club Pilot

We are delighted to announce that Coleridge Primary School, part of our Trust, has been selected as an Early Adopter school for the Department for Education’s (DfE) Breakfast Club pilot. As part of the government’s Plan for Change, Coleridge Primary will be among the first 750 schools in England to offer free, daily breakfast clubs starting in April. This initiative aims to support working families by saving them up to £450 per year while ensuring children start the day ready to learn. Additionally, the programme will provide at least 30 minutes of free childcare every morning, helping parents balance work and family life.
Rotherham MP Sarah Champion welcomed the news, stating, “I am delighted that Coleridge Primary School has been selected as one of the first schools to benefit from Labour’s free breakfast clubs. It’s a testament to the school’s dedication to getting children school-ready, improving their attendance, attainment, and wellbeing, while also easing financial pressures on local families.”
As a Trust, we are proud to help shape this landmark policy and look forward to seeing the positive impact on our pupils and the wider community. This initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to enhancing the educational experience and well-being of our students, and we are excited to see the benefits it will bring.
